  • The Hand O2 device is specifically designed for the accurate determination of headspace and dissolved oxygen content within various packages. Its key feature is the use of micro-invasive sensor tips, which are smaller than 140 µm, enabling precise measurements without significant sample disturbance.
  • The primary application for Hand O2 is packaging quality control in the pharmaceutical and beverage industries. This includes measuring oxygen concentration in:
  • Blister packs
  • Vials
  • Tubes
  • Other types of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP)
  • Key Features:
  • Non-extractive measurement: No need to extract samples, streamlining the testing process.
  • High accuracy & precision: Ensures reliable and consistent oxygen readings.
  • No oxygen consumption: The measurement process itself does not consume oxygen, preserving sample integrity.
  • Versatile needle types: Different needle designs are available to accommodate various vial types.
  • Pharmapack Software: Includes automatic statistical reporting for efficient data analysis.
  • IQ & OQ documentation: Provides essential Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Salinity factor input: Allows for accurate measurements in samples with varying salinity levels within vials.
  • Broad compatibility: Suitable for use with aqueous solutions, ethanol, and methanol.
  • Measuring Range: 0-50% or 0-100% O₂
  • Accuracy:
    • +/- 0.4% at 20.9% O₂
    • +/- 0.05% at 0.2% O₂
  • Temperature Measurement Range: 0-50°C
  • Pressure Measurement Range: 150 mbar to 1150 mbar
  • Response Time (t90): < 15 seconds
  • Cleanable With: 3% H₂O₂ (hydrogen peroxide), Ethanol, Soap solution
  • Calibration: 2-point calibration, using Nitrogen and Synthetic Air
  • Dimensions: 180 x 90 x 270 mm
  • Weight: 1 kg
  • Needles: Available with 0.4 mm, 0.8 mm, 1.2 mm diameter and various lengths (on demand)
  • Interface: USB, RS485, Ethernet
  • Packaging quality control in pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries

Respirometer

Use the arrow keys to navigate between tabs

A respirometer is a device used to measure the respiration of living organisms. It determines the aerobic or anaerobic biodegradability of both solid and liquid samples across various applications.

The respirometer operates by measuring O₂ and CO₂ concentrations in the gas flow through a sample under controlled conditions. The system can also be equipped to measure additional gases.

Key Features:

  • Suitable for solid and liquid samples: Versatile for a wide range of material types.
  • Aerobic and anaerobic measurements: Supports both oxygen-present and oxygen-absent respiration studies.
  • Individual Mass Flow Control (MFC): Mass flow controllers are set independently for each channel, ensuring precise gas management.
  • Optional sensors: Can be customized with additional sensors for gases such as CH₄ (methane), H₂S (hydrogen sulfide), H₂ (hydrogen), VOC (volatile organic compounds), and more.
  • Wide temperature range: Operates effectively from 5°C to 70°C.
  • Automatic humidification and condensate removal system: Ensures stable and accurate measurement conditions by managing moisture.
  • Automatic leakage detection: Enhances reliability and accuracy by identifying and alerting to potential leaks.
  • Dimensions - Control unit: 60 x 60 x 60 cm, Weight: 50kg
  • Dimensions - Thermostatic chamber: 60 x 60 x 105 cm, Weight: 70kg
  • O₂ and CO₂ sensors
  • MFC +/- 1,5% FS: 0-200ml/min or 0-1l/min
  • Vessels for solid medium measurements - 2,8
  • Vessels for liquid medium measurements - 125ml - 1000ml
  • Biodegradability of plastics in solid and aqueous medium
  • Organic waste (solid or liquid samples)
  • Food & beverage production
  • Compost biological activity
  • Wastewaters
  • R&D in biotechnology, biology, ecology and pharmacy
  • ISO 14855-1, ASTM D5338
  • ISO 14852
