Climate Change Response
Scientech fully recognizes the impact and importance of climate change on the company’s sustainable operations. To address potential impacts, the company convenes internal meetings on an ad-hoc basis to evaluate and review energy-saving initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and lowering carbon emissions, thereby mitigating environmental impact. Through the Sustainability Committee, we report management strategies and performance outcomes to the Board of Directors.
To assess the effects of climate change on company operations, we have planned to establish a climate risk and opportunity identification process based on the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework. This process ensures that climate-related impacts are effectively monitored, controlled, and promptly addressed. By actively implementing climate adaptation measures, we strive to continually reduce risks while creating opportunities for sustainable development.
Environmental Policy
Scientech is committed to environmental protection and has obtained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification to systematically develop and manage environmental protection initiatives. In alignment with system requirements, we assess key environmental aspects, establish targeted management plans, and continuously monitor and review progress to ensure objectives are achieved.
We fully recognize the significance of environmental protection in sustaining long-term business operations and actively support government energy-saving and carbon reduction policies. By closely tracking domestic and international regulatory developments, we are able to anticipate changes and respond proactively. Moving forward, Scientech will continue to invest in energy and resource management initiatives aimed at reducing energy consumption and lowering carbon emissions, thereby minimizing environmental impact and fulfilling our responsibility to safeguard the environment.
Carbon Emissions and Energy/Resource Management
Scientech actively supports Taiwan’s green manufacturing policies and is dedicated to sustainable operations. In alignment with the national “Taiwan 2050 Net Zero Emissions Pathway and Strategy” released by the National Development Council, we have adopted ISO 14064-1:2018 and the “Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Registration Management Regulations.”
Using the operational control approach, we conduct comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories for all production sites and facilities under our management or operational control. Each year, our inventories are verified by SGS Taiwan Ltd., through which we obtain official verification statements, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with international and domestic standards.
