Pickering Laboratories is a leader in producing a broad line of artificial sweat, saliva and urine formulations designed for product testing and research. Preparations are for laboratory use only.

Main Features

• Artificial sweat - formulated based on published human sweat data and provides the closest match to a "real product" available on the market.
• Artificial Saliva - Prepared according to the official methods of ASTM E2720-16 and ASTM E2721-16, this formula has a mineral composition and pH close to that of human saliva, and contains mucin to increase the viscosity and lubrication capabilities of the solution.
• Artificial Urine - Formulated based on official test methods and published research on the use of artificial urine for corrosion testing, medical research, and related applications. These products are not sterile but can be sterilized by filtration before use by customers.
• Artificial Cerumen - This product has properties similar to the secretion itself and does not contain keratin or other proteins. Contains lanolin, long-chain fatty acids and paraffin oil.
• Simulated Lung Fluid - Gamble's solution is a simulated lung fluid containing surfactant.
• Simulated Water - Surrogate seawater prepared in accordance with the official method of ASTM D1141-98, and simulated seawater for penetration testing in accordance with Testing Procedure 08-2-501A.
• Synthetic blood - is prepared according to official methods ASTM F1819-07, ASTM F1670, ASTM F1862 and ASTM F2100.

Application

• Artificial sweat - suitable for testing a variety of consumer products and medical devices as well as forensic applications and as a blank for medical testing
• Artificial saliva - Testing of artificial saliva in toys, dental equipment, or pharmaceutical research is critical to achieving an acceptable level of safety for product reliability.
• Artificial urine - used for testing metallic biomaterials used in the production of urinary implants and catheters.
• Artificial Cerumen - used to test hearing aids, earplugs, and other electronic devices used in the ear.
• Simulated Lung Fluid - used to study drug dissolution as well as the solubility and bioavailability of toxic compounds in inhaled particles.
• Simulated Water - Substitute seawater can be successfully used for a variety of tests that require simulated seawater solutions, such as oil contamination testing, cleaning agent evaluation, and corrosion testing. Penetration testing of materials by simulated seawater (sample testing).
• Synthetic blood - can be used to assess the effectiveness of materials used in protective clothing. It can also be used to evaluate the absorptive capacity of materials that are in long-term contact with human skin. "
